Ringier Axel Springer Switzerland is looking to hire aBackend Developereager to take the challenge and unleash the power of data and technology. We form part of the Digital Technology Center (DTC) at Ringier Axel Springer Switzerland and are working on several web projects in the media field. Our key focus is on providing well researched journalism paired with the best online experience. As part of our team you will be responsible for shaping the digital future of our brands. What will you do?

• You independently develop innovative new features for all our brands like for example handelszeitung.ch, beobachter.ch or schweizer-illustrierte.ch
• You bring in your knowledge and ideas and help keeping our software stack up to date
• You take on responsibility of maintenance, optimization and updating of our systems
• As a sparring partner you support the team and help to share the knowledge across all scrum teams

What will you bring?

• Relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience
• You’re a team player, have great communication skills and are interested in technical things
• Agile processes (Scrum) and Git are part of your “daily bread”, ideally, you have even already worked with Docker
• Familiarity of cloud computing on AWS (S3, RDS, Kinesis, etc)
• Ability to address technical and non-technical audiences
• You have in-depth knowledge of PHP OOP and experience with Drupal 8/9
• Knowledge of GraphQL is a plus
• You have already gained experience in the development of microservices based on Node.js (NestJS) and are familiar with AWS (Lambda, EKS)
• Maybe you are even speaking React and JS (ES6+) have also already worked with Static Side Generators (SSG) such as Hugo
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
