This is a fully remote opportunity for one of our esteemed clients.

About the role

You will get experience working with a cross-disciplinary team shipping real-world products to our customers around the nation. In the Search team, you will work with the latest technologies such as Elasticsearch, Golang, Kafka, and GCP. Our team culture is autonomous yet collaborative and supportive.

Responsibilities:

• Proven work on search relevance and ranking algorithms
• Proven work on search-related information retrieval projects and infrastructure at scale
• Proven expertise in Search fundamentals including query understanding, text matching, auto-complete, and search ranking
• Deep domain expertise with search engines such as Elasticsearch, Solr, or Lucene
• Design, develop, test (unit/integration/etc.), deploy, and maintain application code
• Develop multi-region, high-performance services to manage shopper supply, order claiming, and more
• Work with a variety of technologies: Go, Ruby, Postgres, DynamoDB, Redis, Kafka, and more
• Participate in the design process to build efficient, scalable and maintainable architecture
• Collect and analyze metrics to drive implementation decisions
• Design, improve and document processes
• Review and collaborate with other engineers on their code
• Support your team through encouragement and by example
• Engineers have a high degree of ownership for all aspects of their services
• Mentor and share knowledge with the team

Required skills:

• 4+ Years of Software Development Experience
• Experience in GoLang or Java
• Deep domain expertise with search engines such as Elasticsearch, Solr, or Lucene
• Kafka
• Postgres, DynamoDB,

Nice to have skills:

• One or more of the following languages: Ruby/Rails, Python or Golang
• Open-source software and dependency management
• Object/Document data storage technologies
• Caching and in-memory database technologies
• Asynchronous/Multi-threaded Programming Patterns
• Message queuing technologies/strategies
