Working remotely as a Senior Web Developer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining our client's web applications, websites, and e-commerce platforms.The Role
- Develop and maintain web applications: You will be responsible for designing, coding, and modifying web applications, from layout to function. Your expertise in PHP programming will be instrumental in creating robust and scalable web solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with designers, project managers, and other developers to understand project requirements, provide technical insights, and ensure effective implementation of web projects.
- Customisation and development of WordPress websites: Utilise your in-depth knowledge of WordPress to build custom themes, develop plugins, and implement functionality based on client requirements. Experience with WordPress multisite installations is a plus.
- Magento development and customisation: Leverage your Magento expertise to develop and customise e-commerce websites, create custom modules, integrate third-party extensions, and optimise performance.
- Mentorship and technical leadership: Provide guidance and support to junior developers, reviewing their code, and promoting a collaborative and productive team environment.
- Proven experience as a Senior Web Developer: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in web development with expertise in PHP.
- Strong PHP skills: Extensive experience in PHP programming, including proficiency in frameworks like Laravel and Symfony.
- WordPress expertise: In-depth knowledge of WordPress CMS, including theme customisation, plugin development, and administration.
- Magento experience: Demonstrated experience in Magento development, including custom module development, third-party integrations, and performance optimisation.
- Front-end skills: Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive web design principles. Experience with JavaScript frameworks/libraries like Vue, React or Angular is a plus.
- Database knowledge: Strong understanding of relational databases (MySQL) and experience in writing efficient SQL queries.
- Problem-solving and analytical thinking: Ability to analyse complex problems, propose effective solutions, and troubleshoot issues efficiently.
- Any experience with react / Vue or similar framework a bonus.
- Although the role is remote working, candidates should live within the South-West to attend the Plymouth office on rare occasions.
- The farthest East that will be considered is Bristol.
- £38,000 - £45,000, dependent on experience
- 30 days holiday, including public holidays
- Remote working with only occasional travel to the Plymouth office.
