Job Description Summary

Software Build & Release Engineer is an individual contributor position that will work as a member of the GE Command Center Support team, providing Enterprise Level technical support to Command Centers customers and GE HealthCare team members. Must drive complete resolution of complex issues. Must be able to react to monitoring alerts and take appropriate steps based upon defined incident response plans. The scope can include multiple products at times. Works to understand, design and embed Continuous Integration process within SDLC. Requires understanding of software architecture and development, scalability, availability & performance considerations and its impact on release engineering. Job DescriptionResponsibilities

In this role you will:

  • Administer & troubleshoot Active Directory, networks, cloud infrastructure, datacenter servers and workstations in support of our Command Center application.
  • Administer & support remotely video walls located in customer facilities, including configuration of wall layouts, diagnosing video tile issues as reported by the customer, restarting components of the Command Center Platform as required to restore services.
  • Ensure timely and quality resolution of escalated customer/client inquiries via phone and written email correspondence.
  • Design and implement build, deployment, and configuration management systems.
  • Build and test automation tools for infrastructure provisioning.
  • Handle code deployments in all environments.
  • Monitor metrics and develop ways to improve.
  • Build, maintain, and monitor configuration standards.
  • Utilize CI and CD tools with team.
  • Improve infrastructure development and application development.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge and experience with Windows & Linux server & desktop OS, including troubleshooting issues with single and multi-server (peer-to-peer) application implementations on those servers.
  • Experience in writing SQL queries and running those queries against MS SQL, MySQL, & similar Databases.
  • Knowledge and experience with Video Wall technologies and support of Video Wall technologies.
  • Be up to date on latest industry trends; able to articulate trends and potential clearly and confidently,
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ablity to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.

Desired Characteristics:

Technical Expertise:

  • Previous experience with software development, infrastructure development, or development and operations.
  • Knowledge of DevOps tools such as Docker, Jenkins, Maven.
  • Experience with Windows infrastructures, database SQL (MS SQL), CI/CD tools.
  • Agile workflow methodologies knowledge.
  • Tenacious problem solver demonstrating an innate curiosity and passion for solving difficult problems.

Domain Knowledge:

  • Prior Healthcare Domain Experience a plus.
  • Offers data solutions as a method to achieve business objectives.

Leadership:

  • Has the ability to take ownership of small tasks and deliver without supervision while using their discretion to seek help when necessary.
  • Voices opinions and presents clear rationale. Uses data or factual evidence to influence.
  • Recognizes collaborative behavior and participates in collaborative activities.
